I am so thrilled to be part of KvindeKompagniet's gender equality campaign!
How many of our little ones can see empowering representations of their ideal selves in the media? When I grew up I did not see strong, respected gay men in life or in the media with result my coming of age was a struggle between standard male types and gay stereotypes.
I hope that with campaigns such as the Role Model for All campaign that girls and boys and little ones of all genders find that they can see empowering representation more and more.
The music I created for this short film was focused on a more hopeful tone with a few reflective moments to highlight the realisation of the little girl that she does not see many empowered females in the media.
Albums
Franco Bello has created various albums exploring moods, self-expression and angst of uncertainty as well as the calm from finally letting go. 'Omnium' contains lush orchestral textures contoured with fragmented to elongated epic melodies. 'Reflections on a Journey' is more playful in nature yet searching for meaning and anchorage. The songs are eclectic collections of moments in his life that required framing of sorts.
